Our Legacy

Brinkley Auctions was founded by the visionary Larry Brinkley, with the unwavering support of his beloved wife, Laura Nell Brinkley. Born in 1945 in McAlester, OK, Larry was instilled with a strong work ethic from a young age, often working alongside his father and uncle. He met Laura Nell, the love of his life, at Idabel Gray High School, and they married in 1965.

After graduating from Oklahoma State University, Larry taught Agricultural Education and served as a Vo-Ag Programs Representative before discovering his true passion for auctioneering. In 1973, he took a six-week auctioneer course, a decision that would shape his future. Together, Larry and Laura Nell built Brinkley Auctions into Oklahoma’s largest ongoing tractor and farm machinery auction, and one of the largest in the nation, with customers from around the world.

Larry’s commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and deep connection to the community earned him the respect and admiration of many. He was not just a businessman but a mentor, a staple at local livestock shows, and a dedicated supporter of 4-H and FFA programs. His legacy is one of generosity, leadership, and a life dedicated to the service of others.

Following Larry Brinkley’s passing (obit), the future of Brinkley Auctions now rests in the capable hands of BreeAnn Brinkley-Campbell, his granddaughter. As the second-generation owner and operator, BreeAnn carries the weight of both the business’s continued success and the legacy her grandfather built.
